These are photos from our preparations for the shaking table tests in Taiwan!
We are working together and doing our best in preparation for the excitation scheduled for next Monday.
Great job everyone, and thank you for all your hard work!
On February 25, the first phase of a shaking table experiment on a three-story braced steel moment frame was conducted in collaboration with National Taiwan University, National Cheng Kung University, and the National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering.
This was a large-scale experiment involving many students. In addition to the students from the aforementioned universities, Nagoya University students also participated. Thanks to the support and cooperation of many people, the experiment was a great success. We sincerely thank everyone who helped make it possible.
The second phase is schedued to be conducted on March 9th, and we are already very excited.
we have uploaded a video of the experiment to YouTube, so please check it!

The large-scale brace experiment (Chevron Brace Frame), Specimen 5, has been successfully completed! Following 2024, this is the second specimen. Although the limited number of people available, the experiment was successfully finished thanks to everyone’s collective efforts in the preparation.
Great work to Ms. Lilliann, Ms. Ogashiwa, Mr. Mukai, and all the other laboratory members!
Here is the video of experiment!!
Prof. Jeonghwa Lee from Kongju National University in Korea visited us!
He gave a talk on topics such as bridges, which are not very familiar for us in the field of architecture, and it was extremely interesting.
Thank you very much for your visit !!
On the 5th, we visited the National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering (NCREE) in Taipei.
It was very interesting to see such valuable experimental facilities.
At the open lab, we introduced our lab to B3 students and gave them a tour of the lab!
We hope they were able to discover the appeal of our lab.
We held a master’s thesis celebration and a farewell party for our international student, Ivar, at N-Building!
The defense of the master’s thesis was held today. Good job on your thesis!
It is freezing cold outside, and even inside the laboratory, but our spirits are hot and we are pushing ahead with the experimental preparations!
Mr. Tsukamoto awarded young presentation award!!
Congratulations!
